Pour Decisions – Podcast Production

How We Created Ireland’s Number One Hospitality Entertainment Podcast Production.

The Ask

To create, produce, and distribute a fully-formed podcast series called Pour Decisions, a show blending relaxed conversation, stories, drinks culture, and insightful interviews with hospitality industry leaders and professionals. Drink In Creative handled the end-to-end production: from conceptual strategy through to social media distribution and multi-platform publishing.

The goal was to build an engaging, binge-worthy show that connected with audiences visually and audibly across YouTube, Instagram, and all major podcast listening platforms.

The Approach

To deliver Pour Decisions on a timely schedule and to a high production standard, our team treated the project like a full broadcast production with structure, creativity, and scalable workflow baked into every stage.

Pre-Production

We began by establishing the show’s identity and format to define the tone, audience, and creative direction. This included session planning, guest scheduling, scripting loose segments, location selection, equipment prep, and creating a visual style guide and distribution plan for the show.

Our team, in collaboration with the hosts, coordinated all logistical elements: setting shoot dates, securing venues, planning cameras and lighting, and preparing hosts with story arcs and episode goals ahead of each session.

Production

On shoot days, we deployed a filmmaker and photographer as crew to ensure the capture of high-quality video and audio. Using Lumix camera systems and Rode audio rigs, we ensured every episode looked cinematic and sounded as crisp as possible, whether we were on location outdoors in the Irish countryside, in a studio, or out experiencing local pubs, breweries, or distilleries.

We managed everything from lighting and camera blocking to mic placement and direction of the hosts/guests, enabling natural conversations to flow while still capturing compelling visual content.

Post-Production

After filming, our editing team brought each episode together. Cutting footage, balancing sound, adding graphics, music cues, and polishing for both long-form YouTube and short-form social formats. We created multiple asset versions: full episodes for YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, teaser clips for Instagram/TikTok, and audio masters formatted for podcast feeds.

Wherever possible, we optimized each edit for platform performance, ensuring visual and audio elements were tailored to the audiences they would reach.

Distribution

We managed the publishing pipeline: scheduling uploads to YouTube, setting up podcast RSS feeds, and posting promotional content on social channels to build audience engagement and episode discovery. We worked on a month to month schedule to ensure production was happening ahead of schedule and giving our team the most lead time possible to execute distribution.

The Outcome

Pour Decisions became a standout production in our digital portfolio, quickly becoming a well established hospitality entertainment platform. At it’s peak it overtook our competition to become the fastest growing and most followed hospitality podcast in Ireland. A show with engaging content, professional look and feel, and multi-platform reach. By handling all aspects of the production and distribution pipeline, we elevated the podcast from concept to a consistent content series shared on YouTube, Instagram, and audio platforms.
